We offer a wide-ranging service, advising on all taxation aspects of corporate and individual real estate transactions and general day-to-day tax issues arising from the management, acquisition and sale of real estate portfolios. We help identify real estate investment vehicles, offer broad experience in real estate restructurings and keep ahead by monitoring new and proposed laws, such as the establishment and operation of real estate investment trusts (known as "UK-REITS").
In addition, the team has extensive experience in property finance and finance leasing transactions, as well as joint ventures and developments. Increases in stamp duty, together with a clampdown on stamp duty avoidance, have focused attention on this tax as a real cost in commercial transactions and we have particular expertise in advising on stamp duty generally and on its mitigation.
