Simon is recognised in The Surveyors 500 as one of four leading practitioners in the South West for commercial property. He
has practised in the field since 1982, and has advised on all aspects of commercial property, ranging from development and
contaminated industrial sites through to property finance and landlord and tenant matters.
Simon's primary specialism is acting for clients in the investment and development market, with principal emphasis on investment.
He has clearly demonstrated his ability successfully to manage a stable client relationship over the long term (a vital success
factor in this field), having advised Imperial Tobacco Pension Fund over a 20-year period.
Highlights have included advising on the sale and leaseback of the 130,000 square foot Bristol HQ of KPMG LLP in a complex
offshore deal - the largest single deal in the Bristol market for a number of years. He also advised on the complex acquisition
by an investor client of a portfolio of motor vehicle dealership sites with redevelopment potential from a receiver, with
individual leasebacks to new dealerships, funded partly by debt funding and partly by a joint venture.
Simon is a non-executive director of a listed property investment company. He qualified in 1982, joining Osborne Clarke in
1986. He became a partner in 1988.
