Ulrich advises his clients mainly in the areas of information technology and intellectual property/unfair competition law.
He drafts and negotiates complex international IT project contracts and IT outsourcing (offshore) agreements. He also advises
his clients in all aspects of e-commerce law, intellectual property law and examines the advertisements of many US and other
international firms pursuant to the terms of the German unfair competition law.
Ulrich advises many national and international software developers (offshore software developers), business consulting firms,
international airlines and hardware manufacturers. Many franchise companies, national transport companies as well as medical
and other product companies are also among his clients. He also advises an international steel and paper trading company in
its worldwide sales activities.
After his studies at the universities of Würzburg (Bavaria), Cologne and Aberystwyth (Wales, UK), Ulrich obtained his LL.M.
(IT/ Intellectual Property) at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. (USA). Ulrich has been admitted in Germany
since 2000 ("Rechtsanwalt") and in the United States since 1998 as an Attorney-at-Law in New York. From 1999 until September
2004, Ulrich worked as a senior associate in the areas of technology, media and telecommunication at the law firm formerly
associated with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC Veltins (later Heussen RA GmbH)) in Frankfurt.
Ulrich is the author of various articles (including an article on P2P file sharing in the October 2004 issue of Computer &
Recht International) and the co-author of a textbook on German e-commerce law. He also gives frequent lectures on current
IT and IP issues, such as IT system contracts and on German and American intellectual property right issues. He also is a
lecturer for the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw) and participated as a lecturer on European IT law in
the last Cyber Space Camp in Bangalore, India in November 2005. He also lectures frequently for Management Circle and Global
Competence Forum on IT, US and India related legal topics.
