Osborne Clarke is a European law firm that operates globally with 3 offices in the UK: Bristol, London and Thames Valley,
2 offices in Germany: Munich and Cologne and one office in the United States: Silicon Valley. The Osborne Clarke Alliance
has offices in a further 9 countries across Europe.
We have the legal expertise and high performance culture that you would expect from a leading business law firm. We strive
to ensure that our lawyers are not only technically excellent, but also that they have the commercial acumen, management and
leadership skills necessary to excel in a highly competitive market.
Our culture and attitude to work is what sets us apart. We want people to enjoy working at Osborne Clarke and to feel part
of our growth strategy. The firm is proud of its open, friendly and collaborative environment with a strong emphasis on teamwork.
With a revenue of £95.3 million in 2007/08, our growing success is down to our service-driven approach and our commitment
to developing the lawyers and partners of the future on our trainee programme.
Our trainee programme is just the first step. Think of it as an investment in your future. And ours.
Locations
With 3 offices in the UK, your training contract can be based in either Bristol, London or the Thames Valley. Each office
is based in the heart of the city's business community and boasts a mix of cutting-edge architecture and contemporary working
spaces.
Our inclusive culture means you'll be a valued member of our team from the start, working alongside experienced lawyers in
an unstuffy, open-plan environment.
We believe in the importance of our trainees working alongside our one firm approach and for this reason, one seat of your
training contract may be based in another office.
As well as offering the chance to work in one of our other offices, you could also experience a secondment to a clients office
or spend some time in Europe in one of our German offices.
Real experience
There’s no holding you back once you start.
We believe in giving our trainees real experience with real clients from the word go. These will include international brands such as 3i, Dell, Motorola, RWE nPower, Nintendo of Europe, Royal Bank of Scotland, Vodafone and Barclays.
Through our practice areas, we give you the opportunity to gain experience across a broad spectrum of business sectors and practice areas. This means that during your training contract, as well as getting the opportunity to work in different departments, you will get the opportunity to work with clients from a variety of sectors ranging from construction to financial services.
If you can handle real responsibility, you’ll relish the experience.
Future trainees
From the moment you accept a training contract offer, you feel part of the firm.
You will be invited to attend the firm's staff parties which can range from a 'Wild West' party during the summer to a more
informal evening at Bristol Zoo. By attending these events, our future trainees get to know the firm and some of our people
before they join as trainees.
We like to hear how our trainees are getting on and over the 2 years before you start your training contract we like to receive
regular updates on what you have been up to.
Of course, we will do the same and keep you updated on any news from Osborne Clarke.
We will also have contact with you when you sign up for the GDL and/or the LPC. Not only will we offer advice on institutions,
we will also have contact with you when you have to choose electives.
Don't just take our word for it
You've read about Osborne Clarke but don't just take our word for it. In 2006 we were voted law firm of the year by Legal
Week and our corporate and pro bono work have also been recognised through awards in 2007.
